മുപ്പത്തിയഞ്ചുകാരനായ താരം 220 ഇന്നിംഗ്സുകളില്‍ നിന്ന് 338 വിക്കറ്റ് നേടി. മുത്തയ്യ മുരളീധരന്‍(523 വിക്കറ്റ്) ചാമിന്ദ വാസ്(399 വിക്കറ്റ്) എന്നിവരാണ് മലിംഗയുടെ മുന്നിലുള്ളത്. ടെസ്റ്റില്‍ നിന്ന് 2011ല്‍ വിരമിച്ച താരം മറ്റ് ഫോര്‍മാറ്റുകളില്‍ തുടരുകയായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ അടുത്ത ടി20 ലോകകപ്പ് കളിക്കാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹമുണ്ടെന്ന് മലിംഗ അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു.
