രണ്ട് പതിറ്റാണ്ടിലേറെ രഞ്ജി ട്രോഫി കളിച്ച ജീന്ദര്‍ ഗോയല്‍ (77) അന്തരിച്ചു. ഹരിയാനായുടെ താരമായിരുന്ന ഗോയല്‍ രഞ്ജി ട്രോഫി ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ വിക്കറ്റെടുത്ത ബോളറാണ്.
ദില്ലി: രണ്ട് പതിറ്റാണ്ടിലേറെ രഞ്ജി ട്രോഫി കളിച്ച ജീന്ദര്‍ ഗോയല്‍ (77) അന്തരിച്ചു. ഹരിയാനായുടെ താരമായിരുന്ന ഗോയല്‍ രഞ്ജി ട്രോഫി ചരിത്രത്തില്‍ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ വിക്കറ്റെടുത്ത ബോളറാണ്. 637 വിക്കറ്റുകളാണ് ഓഫ് സ്പിന്നര്‍ വീഴ്ത്തിയത്. ഫസ്റ്റ് ക്ലാസ് ക്രിക്കറ്റില്‍ ആകെ 157 മത്സരങ്ങളില്‍ 750 വിക്കറ്റുകള്‍ വീഴ്ത്തി. ഹരിയാനയ്ക്ക് പുറമെ പഞ്ചാബ്, ഡല്‍ഹി ടീമുകള്‍ക്കു വേണ്ടി ഗോയല്‍ കളിച്ചു.
ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ടീമില്‍ സ്പിന്നറായി ഇതിഹാസ താരം ബിഷന്‍ സിങ് ബേദി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതിനാല്‍ ഗോയലിന് ഒരിക്കല്‍പ്പോലും അവസരം കിട്ടിയില്ല. ദീര്‍ഘനാളായി അസുഖബാധിതനായിരുന്നു. ഭാര്യയും മകന്‍ നിതിന്‍ ഗോയലുമുള്‍പ്പെടുന്നതാണ് കുടുംബം.
