ഐസിസി അടുത്തിടെ വരുത്തിയ മാറ്റം ടെസ്റ്റ് ക്രിക്കറ്റിന്‍റെ നിറംകെടുത്തിയെന്നാണ് മുന്‍ താരങ്ങളുടെ വിമര്‍ശനം
എഡ്‌ജ്‌ബാസ്റ്റണ്‍: ടെസ്റ്റ് ക്രിക്കറ്റിലെ ചരിത്രമാറ്റത്തോടെയാണ് ആഷസിന് തുടക്കമായത്. ചരിത്രത്തിലാദ്യമായി പേരും നമ്പറുമുള്ള ജഴ്‌സിയണിഞ്ഞാണ് ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്- ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയന്‍ താരങ്ങള്‍ കളിക്കുന്നത്. ടെസ്റ്റ് ജഴ്‌സിയിലെ ഈ മാറ്റത്തിനായി ദീര്‍ഘകാലമായി കാത്തിരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു ആരാധകര്‍.
എന്നാല്‍ ടെസ്റ്റ് കുപ്പായത്തിലെ പേരും നമ്പറും മുന്‍താരങ്ങളില്‍ ചിലരെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നില്ല. ബ്രെറ്റ് ലീ, ഷൊയൈബ് അക്‌തര്‍, ആദം ഗില്‍ക്രിസ്റ്റ് എന്നിവര്‍ മാറ്റത്തോട് മുഖംതിരിച്ചു. ടെസ്റ്റ് ക്രിക്കറ്റിന്‍റെ ശൈലിയായ പേരും നമ്പറുമില്ലാത്ത വെള്ള ജഴ്‌സിതന്നെ വേണമെന്നാണ് ഇവരുടെ ആവശ്യം. ക്രിക്കറ്റുമായി യാതൊരു ബന്ധവുമില്ലാത്ത നമ്പറുകള്‍ ജഴ്‌സിയുടെ പിന്നില്‍ ആലേഖനം ചെയ്യുന്നത് യുക്തിരഹിതമാണെന്ന് നേരത്തെയും വിമര്‍ശനമുയര്‍ന്നിരുന്നു.
For what it’s worth I’m strongly against the players numbers & names appearing on the back of test cricket shirts!
I think it looks ridiculous. I love the changes you’ve made to cricket in general, but on this occasion you’ve got it wrong.
