ഹൈദരാബാദ്: ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ക്രിക്കറ്റിന് എക്കാലത്തും പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട താരമാണ് വിവിഎസ് ലക്ഷ്മണ്‍. വെരി വെരി സ്‌പെഷല്‍ എന്ന് ആരാധകര്‍ സ്നേഹത്തോടെ വിളിക്കുന്ന മുന്‍ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ താരത്തിന്‍റെ 43-ാം ജന്മദിനത്തില്‍ സഹതാരം സച്ചിന്‍ ടെന്‍ഡുല്‍ക്കറുടെ ആശംസയും വെരി വെരി സ്‌പെഷല്‍ ആയിരുന്നു. റണ്‍മല തീര്‍ക്കുന്ന വിവിഎസ് ലക്ഷമണിന്‍റെ ബാറ്റിംഗിന് പിന്നിലെ രഹസ്യം മാസ്റ്റര്‍ ബ്ലാസ്റ്റര്‍ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി.
ബാറ്റിംഗിനിറങ്ങും മുമ്പ് കുളിക്കുന്നതും ആപ്പില്‍ കഴിക്കുന്നതുമാണ് ലക്ഷ്മണിന്‍റെ റണ്‍വേട്ടക്ക് പിന്നിലെ കരുത്തെന്നാണ് സച്ചിന്‍ അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടത്. 2001ല്‍ സ്റ്റീവ് വോയുടെ കരുത്തരായ ഓസീസിനെതിരെ ഈഡന്‍ ഗാര്‍ഡനില്‍ നേടിയ 281 റണ്‍സ് ടെസ്റ്റ് ക്രിക്കറ്റിലെ മികച്ച ഇന്നിംഗ്സായാണ് വിലയിരുത്തപ്പെടുന്നത്. ലക്ഷ്മണിന്‍റെയും രാഹുല്‍ ദ്രാവിഡിന്‍റെയും 376 റണ്‍സ് കൂട്ടുകെട്ടില്‍ 171 റണ്‍സിന് ഇന്ത്യ വിജയിച്ചിരുന്നു.
ടെസ്റ്റില്‍ 134 മത്സരങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് 8781 റണ്‍സ് നേടിയിട്ടുള്ള ലക്ഷ്മണ്‍ ഓസീസിന്‍റെ പേടിസ്വപ്നമായിരുന്നു. രണ്ട് ഇരട്ട സെഞ്ചുറിയടക്കം 3000ലധികം റണ്‍സാണ് ലക്ഷ്മണന്‍ ഓസീസിനെതിരെ നേടിയിട്ടുള്ളത്. എന്നാല്‍ മികച്ച താരമായി വിലയിരുത്തപെട്ടിട്ടും ഒരു ലോകകപ്പ് മത്സരം പോലും കളിക്കാന്‍ താരത്തിന് അവസരം ലഭിച്ചില്ല. പിറന്നാള്‍ദിനത്തില്‍ വിവിഎസിന് ആശംസകളുമായി നിരവധി ക്രിക്കറ്റ് താരങ്ങള്‍ രംഗത്തെത്തി.
