Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT): An ideal Place for your Dream

Nestled away in an idyllic village near Angamaly, lies one of the most sought after premier self-financing professional colleges in Kerala, the Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT). A sprawling campus spread over more than 36 acres of land, the campus is steeped in refreshing metro-rural ambience and is the centre of bustling student activities. it was established in the year 2002 under the aegis of Federal Bank Officers’ Association Educational Society, an initiative of Federal Bank Officers’ Association. The campus houses academic and administrative blocks, hostels, research and lifestyle facilities for over 3200 students who are studying in various programmes. There are 210 faculty members and over 128 non-teaching staff members working in the institution. With more than 70,00, 000 lakh sq.ft of built up space, FISAT takes pride in its extensive infrastructure facilities. The programmes we offers are B.Tech (Six Branches) M.Tech (Six Branches) MCA, MBA and Ph.D.

The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), accredited by NAAC with A Grade, it is also ISO 9001-2015 certified and affiliated to A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University and Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. We are also in process of getting accreditation for our programmes by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Of the many things that makes the institute an ideal space for budding young talents, it is their track record in innovation and product development that takes the centre stage. The college is credited with establishing Kerala’s first High Performance Computing Centre. Instrumentation Research and Consultancy Centre (IRACC), Centre for Advanced Research in Power Converters (CARPC), Center for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (Nodal center of KSUM), Federal Labz (Incubation Centre), Fab Lab, Centre for Earthquake Engineering Studies (CEES), Centre for Automotive Research (CAR) and Centre for Research and Innovations in Signal Processing (CRISP) are the other centers that power FISAT’s mission to nurture research and development. FISAT is one among the few colleges where, under the Research Promotion Scheme, AICTE has sanctioned research centers in the departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Computer Science Engineering.

The Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship promotes entrepreneurship and innovation capabilities and skills in students. It supports and incubates entrepreneurship ventures and launches products developed by students of FISAT and other colleges. The college’s reputation for academic excellence is also reflected in its constant efforts to improve the quality of its faculty through various skill enhancement regimes and training programmes. FISAT has been selected as one of the Eklavya Outreach Programme Remote Centers of Indian Institute of Technologies and E Yenthraya (IIT) Bombay and Kharagpur.The college is also approved as a Resource Centre of IIT Bombay for the ‘Spoken Tutorial Project’. As part of foreign collaborations FISAT has also signed signed MOU with four foreign universities from Japan, Malaysia Korea and Scotland.
