ഇതിനിടെയാണ് ഒമര്‍ അബ്ദുള്ള തന്റെ നിലപാട് ട്വിറ്ററില്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കിയത്. ഷമിക്ക് പിന്തുണ നല്‍കേണ്ടത് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ടീമിന്റെ കടമയാണെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ട്വീറ്റ് ചെയ്തു. ''പാകിസ്ഥാനോട് പരാജയപ്പെട്ട ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ടീമിലെ ഒരു താരമാണ് ഷമി. അദ്ദേഹം മാത്രമല്ല, ടീമിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. സമൂഹ മാധ്യങ്ങളില്‍ അധിക്ഷേപം നേരിട്ട ഷമിക്കൊപ്പം ടീം ഇന്ത്യ നില്‍ക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തില്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഇന്ത്യ ബ്ലാക്ക് ലൈവ്‌സ് മാറ്റേഴ്‌സിന് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ടീം പിന്തുണ നല്‍കുന്നതില്‍ യുക്തിയില്ല.'' ഒമര്‍ അബ്ദുള്ള കുറിച്ചിട്ടു.
