അല്‍ ഹിലാലിന്റെ ഓഫറിനെ കുറിച്ചും മെസി സംസാരിച്ചിരുന്നു. ആവശ്യം പണത്തോടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍ തനിക്ക് സൗദി അറേബ്യയില്‍ പോവാമായിരുന്നുവെന്നാണ് മെസി പറയുന്നത്. ''ബാഴ്സയിലേക്കുള്ള മടങ്ങിവരവിന് ലാ ലിഗ പച്ചക്കൊടി കാട്ടുന്നതായുള്ള റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരുന്നു. പക്ഷേ, തിരിച്ചുവരവ് സാധ്യമാക്കുന്നതിന് ഒരുപാട് കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഇപ്പോഴും നഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടി വരുമെന്നുള്ളതാണ് സത്യം.'' മെസി പ്രസ്താവനയില്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.
ബാഴ്‌സ ഒരു നിര്‍ദേശം മുന്നില്‍ വച്ചിരുന്നുവെന്നും അതൊരിക്കലും രേഖാമൂലം ഒപ്പിട്ട നിര്‍ദ്ദേശമായിരുന്നില്ല എന്നും മെസി കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു. ഞാന്‍ ബാഴ്‌സയില്‍ എത്തണമെങ്കില്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് മറ്റുതാരങ്ങളെ ഒഴിവാക്കുകയും അവരുടെ ശമ്പളം വെട്ടികുറയ്ക്കുകയും വേണ്ടി വരും. അതുപോലൊരു തിരിച്ചുവരവല്ല ഞാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത്. അത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം ഏറ്റെടുക്കാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല.'' മെസി വ്യക്തമാക്കി.
