About Asianetnews.com

After conquering the broadcast medium, Asianet News stepped foot in the Digital space in 2015 armed with cutting edge technology and unmatched insights. Offering news, views and valued content in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali and English, Asianet News is on a mission to inspire with ‘Straight, Bold and Relentless’ stories.

Asianetnews.com’s expansion from being the most viewed and respected vernacular digital media group to becoming one of the Top 10 news platforms in India is firm validation that our viewers believe in our futuristic approach.

Fighting Fake News

The term ‘Fake News’ has been causing ruckus in today’s digital world and for all of us part of this industry, misinformation and manipulation has been one of the main concerns. With the proliferation of powerful social media platforms, there’s been a drastic rise in the spread of fake news and misconceptions in order to influence the public’s perception and destroy the brand reputation.

Owing to the high volume of such posts, Asianet News initiated a Fact-Check process to ensure we fulfill our responsibility of presenting the truth at all times. Given that a chunk of news reports published in India are either in English or Hindi, a majority of the population especially in tier-2 or tier-3 cities and villages is strayed away from the truth. Thus, India’s leading vernacular news network, Asianet News took the onus of separating the fact from the fiction for our devout audiences.

In 2019, the Malayalam website successfully launched the Fact-Check initiative led by the Chief Editor, This much-needed initiative was subsequently replicated in our other langugaes. By the end of 2020, we hope to put the fact-check process in place for the Tamil, Telugu, Bangla and English websites.

A team of seasoned editors, who have years of experience in bringing the truth out, form the core of Fact Check team at Asianet News Network. Respective language Editors along with a few hand-picked journalists from his/her team follow a set process to ensure truth is not compromised. Details listed below:
